Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 medium onion, very finely chopped
- 1-1/2 lbs. ground chuck
- 1/2 cup parsley, finely minced (loosely packed)
- 1 scant tsp. dried mint flakes or 1 tbsp. fresh mint, very finely chopped
- 1egg
- 1 clove garlic, very finely chopped
- 1-1/2 tsp. salt
- Generous pinch ground black pepper
- Vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp. vinegar
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- Oregano or finely minced parsley to garnish
- In a large bowl, soak the breadcrumbs in the milk. Mix well and add onion, meat, parsley, mint, egg, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly and form into small meatballs.
- Heat enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides, cooking them thoroughly.
- Spoon the meatballs onto a heated serving dish.
- Combine the vinegar and sugar in the skillet and stir over a low heat to incorporate the drippings into the sauce and completely dissolve the sugar. Pour this sauce over the meatballs, garnish with oregano or parsley, and serve.
